We are delighted to announce that Axiom has been awarded the opportunity to deliver an iconic sculptural interpretive installation for the world heritage listed Fremantle Prison.

Axiom have a long lasting association producing award winning interpretive signage and exhibition works to this important tourism destination and are excited to again be working with the Fremantle Prison team to deliver another important project. This project will depict the original use of the ramp as an arrival point for convicts. The ramp was the primary pathway along which convicts were led between the prison and convict transport ships anchored at Fremantle Port.

We will be developing an interpretive sculptural piece so that visitors to Fremantle Prison will be able ‘walk in the shadow’ of Western Australia’s convict past, the piece will depict a group of life-size convicts and pensioner guards on their arrival to Fremantle, highlighting the ramp’s significance as a historic convict pathway.

Update: Following the culmination of several months work, a collaboration of artists and storytellers as well as a talented team of steel fabricators – the installation is now complete!
